State Board Online Courses
BARBERINGCOSMETOLOGY
I thoroughly enjoyed having Ms. Poles as my cosmetology instructor. She made sure we knew everything we needed to to pass our state board exam. We spent many many hours doing repetitious tasks but it paid off in the end. I felt fairly comfortable going into the boards both for the written and the practical portions, knowing I knew the information well.

Since passing my boards with flying colors, I currently own my own salon and have worked behind the chair for nearly 9 years. I am an all around cosmetologist who preforms not only hair services but, nails and waxing services as well on a regular basis. Samantha

Going to college wasn’t something I always thought I would do. Growing up in a single-parent household, I knew that finding a way to pay for a degree would be a challenge. Fortunately for me, I had an awesome opportunity to graduate from high school not only with my advanced diploma, but a professional certification under my belt as well.

Through the Cosmetology program at the high school I attended, I was able to earn my Virginia Cosmetology license and get a great job in the industry that helped to pay for my college. The program consisted of both practical and theory components. Some days we focused on theory, where we studied each chapter of the book to become proficient in understanding the ins and outs of cosmetology. Other days were dedicated to the practical side of things where we put our skills to the test. One major thing I learned was that cosmetology is much more than just doing hair; I came to know and love all facets of the profession including skin and nail care, hair, and barbering.

Additionally, this program taught me about educating others on products for the maintenance and upkeep of your hair, as well as healthy habits that aid in improving hair, skin, and nails. The program truly gave me hands-on experience, prepared me to do well on the State Board test, earn a professional license, and feel comfortable in getting right to work.

Today, while I have earned my degree at the masters level in School Counseling and absolutely love what I do, I still have a passion for Cosmetology that I am able to practice because of earning my license as a high school student. Trinnie

I have enjoyed growing, learning, and evolving in many aspects with Ms.Poles. I admire her and her teachings. It was awesome learning about the cosmetology world and her personal connection with it. Alicia

When my brother was released from Fauquier County Jail, he went to work at Crown & Glory where he met Ms. Wrennetta Poles.  Ms. Poles gave him an opportunity to show and share his talent and gift with the clients. He became a member of the Crown & Glory family. He would help with teaching others and overseeing the shop. He would go the extra mile and he loved sharing the Word of God. He was so passionate about hair cutting that his son, Lil Will, at the age of 2 took his scissors and started cutting his sisters hair, Taelor’s hair. That’s when Daddy Will had to give Taelor a pixie hair cut. In closing, I truly believe that his encounter with Crown & Glory was a divine connection from God. I know God and Will are watching over the business. William's sister
